    Reach Topslip by early afternoon via Sethumadai and the reserve checkpost. The forest department runs vehicle safaris from Topslip into teak, bamboo and grassland, where spotted deer, sambar, gaur, langurs and elephants are regular and tigers and leopards are rare sightings. Visit the elephant camp area if the department is allowing visitors that day. Stay the night in Pollachi, or in Topslip's forest-department accommodation if you have secured it.

    Aliyar Dam sits at the reserve's edge, and the forest department's Monkey Falls is just up the road. On the ghat, watch the rock faces near the upper bends for Nilgiri tahr. In the late afternoon, visit the Puthuthottam rainforest patch near town, where lion-tailed macaques are often seen.

    Valparai: Nallamudi, Sholayar and the rainforest–tea mosaic

    Sunrise at Nallamudi Poonjolai over the forested Anamalai ranges, then the Sholayar road, where elephants move between forest and estates (watched only from the vehicle), and Chinnakallar in the wet months. The reserve's high grasslands at Grass Hills are closed to casual visits, so our naturalist explains what lives there instead.

    Valparai → Pollachi → Udumalpet → Amaravathi → drop

    Descend early to Pollachi and drive east to Udumalpet, where the land turns drier. At Amaravathi, see the reservoir and, when it is open to visitors, the forest department's breeding centre for mugger crocodiles. Stop at Thirumoorthy's temple and falls near Udumalpet if you like, then drop at Coimbatore, Pollachi, Udumalpet or Palani by evening.

TRIP WORTHY👍👍👍👍👍 Thank You so much Mahesh sir❤️ Its a 3 days 2 night trip covering valparai topslip and parambikulam with family of 4 people booked valparai mahesh travels. To start with pollachi junction till end of the trip valparai topslip and parambikulam the hospitality of the hotel assistants, cab Driver Mr.Rajagopal was very helpful and satisfactory.. we visited all the places safely, timely and also we were informed about the historical news of the places by the driver himself which was helpful to make the trip more memorable..valparai has become my most favourite trip especially because of the nature anf wildlife safari, tribal symphony, forest stay, trekking etc of arrangements made by Mr. Mahesh sir for our family. Wow breathtaking road curves and natural beauty!! Tour package was very cost economic and customized . Food prepared was homely and taste was very good as we are vegetarian of nominal cost. What is the Anamalai Tiger Reserve?

A protected area of the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu covering the Anamalai hills around Pollachi, Valparai and Udumalpet. Topslip is its main tourism zone, and Valparai's tea plateau lies within and around it.

Is Valparai inside the Anamalai Tiger Reserve?

The Valparai plateau is mostly private tea estates and town land surrounded by the reserve, with forest fragments in between, which is why wildlife moves through the estates.

Can we see tigers at Topslip?

Tigers live in the reserve, but sightings are rare. Deer, gaur, elephants, langurs and birds are what most visitors see.

How is this different from the Topslip package?

The Topslip package combines Topslip, Parambikulam (Kerala) and Valparai in 3 days. This 4-day plan stays within Tamil Nadu's Anamalai reserve and adds Amaravathi in the east.
