The Valparai summer holiday package is for April and May, when the plains of Tamil Nadu and Kerala swelter and the plateau stays mild. It is a family-paced 3 days 2 nights: Aliyar and the hairpin bends, paddling at Koolangal river, Sri Balaji Temple, Nallamudi Poonjolai, Sholayar Dam and estate walks. Summer is Valparai's peak season, so book 4–6 weeks ahead.

Leave early to beat the heat and the holiday traffic. Aliyar's park is a good leg-stretch for children. Monkey Falls has a gentler flow in summer and opens as the forest department allows. Climb the hairpin bends with a stop at Loam's View Point, check in by lunch, and spend the afternoon at Koolangal river.
Day 2Day 2
Visit Nallamudi Poonjolai in the morning (April–May mornings can be hazy, so we don't insist on sunrise), then Sholayar Dam's backwaters, lunch in town, and Sri Balaji Temple in the cooler evening.
Day 3Day 3
An easy estate walk, the church and some tea shopping, then the descent, timed to avoid the hottest afternoon hours on the plains if you have a long drive home.

Booked 5 days 4 nights tour package with family of 6 persons and 2 kids from Chennai.Family and enjoyed the beautiful sightseeings of valparai parambikulam athirapally falls.special mention they given a very good stay for 4 nights with breathtaking views and parambikulam stay arranged by Mahesh sir was highly appreciated.As Mahesh sir was a naturalist with him as a cab driver for our 5 days trip was very informative and we doesn't see a person with tons of knowledge in wildlife and local insights. We enjoyed many wildlife spottings elephant,leopard,sloth bear,wild dogs,great Indian guar,lion tailed macaque,giant squirrel, and many birds etc in this tour with help of Mahesh.He is very good guide and good friend I had got from valparai. Food provided in the package was very excellent and home made local stuff.Special mention on time food was delivered to room.Non veg was very tasty as we paid that belongs to our request. We enjoyed local cusines,bamboo rafting,tribal dance,tribal people visit, with help of Mahesh and stay given inside the forest was highly recommend by this travels. We covered all places and tour was very customer friendly.Punctual on time pick up drop feels we are very safe.As with family Mahesh sir driving skills was out of box in hills journey, Vehicle given by them was Innova very clean and excellent maintenance with service records feels very safe to drive for 5 days. Yes. While the plains are hot, Valparai's days are mild and its evenings cool, which is why April–May is its busiest season.
Four to six weeks ahead for weekends, and two to three weeks for weekdays.
Flows are lighter in April–May. Koolangal river and Monkey Falls are usually gentle and family-friendly; Chinnakallar is best after the monsoon.
